{"id":2381,"date":"2019-06-20T14:28:51","date_gmt":"2019-06-20T14:28:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/umc-eurasia.ru\/?p=2381"},"modified":"2019-07-16T17:36:54","modified_gmt":"2019-07-16T17:36:54","slug":"light-it-up-slogan-of-the-eurasian-umc-youth-forum-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.umc-eurasia.ru\/en\/light-it-up-slogan-of-the-eurasian-umc-youth-forum-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;LIGHT IT UP!&#8221; &#8211; SLOGAN OF THE EURASIAN UMC YOUTH FORUM-2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<div align=\"right\"><em><strong>Vladimir Ditmar<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BcOPyll5uCk\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>That was the motto of the new Youth Forum-2015 \u201cYou are the light of the world!\u201d that took place near Saint Petersburg: the event lit up the new stars and constellations of young, gifted ministers of United Methodist churches in Eurasia.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fotki.yandex.ru\/next\/users\/serdukov79\/album\/220829\/view\/738632\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Photo 1.JPG\" src=\"https:\/\/img-fotki.yandex.ru\/get\/16121\/12729575.1d\/0_b4548_31fe2080_L.jpg\" alt=\"Photo 1.JPG\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The very first night the participants received an impulse of cheerfulness and energy through the encouraging worship service and Holy Communion, as well as the night caf\u00e9 with the special treat \u2013 a dance flash mob, prepared by the organizers.<br \/>\nThe basic topic of the forum this time was the theme \u201cThe gifts of the Holy Spirit\u201d. It was presented by Bishop Eduard Khegay during the practical lessons, however practically every forum\u2019s event was related to the theme of spiritual gifts: both passionate worship, and small groups discussions, and the night caf\u00e9, organized and led by Alina Starkova (Aspiration UMC), and role-plays, and, of course, workshops and worship services.<br \/>\nThe forum of 2015 was full of surprises. One could be sure about it. \u201cBehold, I create all things new\u201d \u2013 that\u2019s what marked the event. Brand new hymns and songs, played by the worship band, a new onstage way of presenting morning devotions, the traditional Big game, this time being played on the streets of Saint Petersburg \u2013 all these habitual events were revealed in an interesting and unexpected way.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fotki.yandex.ru\/next\/users\/serdukov79\/album\/220829\/view\/738633\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Photo 2.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/img-fotki.yandex.ru\/get\/4914\/12729575.1d\/0_b4549_b10a373e_L.jpg\" alt=\"Photo 2.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Each day we were given a unique opportunity to go deep into the atmosphere of a new worship style: contemporary, traditional one, the early church worship service, the Taize ecumenical ministry.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fotki.yandex.ru\/next\/users\/serdukov79\/album\/220829\/view\/738634\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Photo 3.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/img-fotki.yandex.ru\/get\/15563\/12729575.1d\/0_b454a_433d45ed_L.jpg\" alt=\"Photo 3.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Thus, the participants again got the idea of how open Methodist church is to different ways of praising God, and got the chance to enjoy their favorite worship style.<br \/>\nOne more new thing that the forum had was a social issues debate \u2013 that\u2019s exactly what forums are about.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fotki.yandex.ru\/next\/users\/serdukov79\/album\/220829\/view\/738631\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Photo1.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/img-fotki.yandex.ru\/get\/15569\/12729575.1d\/0_b4547_79c8162c_L.jpg\" alt=\"Photo1.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fotki.yandex.ru\/next\/users\/serdukov79\/album\/220829\/view\/738635\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Photo 4.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/img-fotki.yandex.ru\/get\/16135\/12729575.1d\/0_b454b_90854bf6_L.jpg\" alt=\"Photo 4.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The speakers of the debate, Vladimir Ditmar (Kirov UMC) and Dmitry Lysin (Kainda UMC), raised the questions, which were really urgent for the society and the church, that is, the issues of suicide, migration and racism, homosexuality, addictions. I hope that this good beginning will maintain and be developed during the future events.<br \/>\nThe forum \u201cYou are the light of the world!\u201d turned out to be an anniversary for the pastors Andrei Kim and Irina Margulis.
