Dedication of the Conference building in Saint-Petersburg

A Conference building was dedicated in Saint-Petersburg June 13, 2010

A group of missioners from Minnesota came to the AC of North-West Russia and Byelorussia in 2004 and they made a covenant with our conference on joint ministry and assistance in purchase of a building.

A that time Eduard Khegay was the superintendent of Saint-Petersburg region. He made a lot of efforts to forward the joint ministry. At one of the ACs in Minnesota Eduard testified about the ministry of the United Methodist Church in Russia, where it is very important for a church to have its own building so that people could see a real church. It was ok, but before his speech a minister from South-East Asia testified about their ministry too and encouraged people to donate for the building to make the ministry more fruitful. And when he said that a few thousand dollars is enough to build the church, the whole conference (more then a thousand people) immediately raised the needed sum. At that moment the amount of several tens of times as much didn’t arise much enthusiasm.

But in 2008 we heard the joyful news that funds are gathered and we only have to find a proper variant. But it was not easy to do since in four years the prices for the buildings increased several times.

The whole year of searching and prayers has given its fruits: we have our own building Tsimbalin street, 38. When we were invited to watch the building in October 2008, we had no opportunity to buy it: the price was too high. But there is nothing impossible for God.

As it was expected, this building is the office of the AC, the office of Saint-Petersburg region and a place where local churches can hold worship services and church programs.
