Traditional symbol of the United Methodist Church – is the cross connected with flame, consisted of two tongues of fire. The emblem is rich of symbolic images. It shows relation of UMC with God – through Jesus Christ (cross) and Holy Spirit (flame). Flame – is a reminder of the day of Pentecost, when witnesses were filled by the power of the Holy Spirit and saw “what looked like tongues of fire.” (Acts 2:3)
The United Methodist Church of Eurasia (UMCE) is the part of the World United Methodist Church.
UMC is not a union or association of churches. This is one church, represented by several local congregations and Bible groups in the different parts of Russia, Ukraine, Belorussia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kirgizstan and Tajikistan.
